How The Other Half Loves

A classic comedy of misunderstandings.

A 1969 farce by Alan Ayckbourn about an affair between Fiona and Bob, who involve a third couple, the Featherstones, as alibis, leading to a cascade of misunderstandings and comical chaos, famously staged with two living rooms on a single set where the Featherstones swivel between the two simultaneous dinner parties. The play explores themes of class, sex, and marital deception through its three couples: the wealthy Fosters, the working-class Phillipses, and the socially climbing Featherstones.
